Cambridge and area
The University
City of Cambridge is famous as a seat of learning and a visit to the many colleges which
are located within the city centre is an essential part of any tour. Do not miss King's
College, with its famous chapel and St John's College together with the famous Bridge of
Sighs spanning the River Cam which runs past many of the colleges. Museums to visit cover
topics as varied as Art, Industrial heritage and the 2nd world war. Shopping abounds
in Cambridge and you will have no problems finding a tea room for some welcome rest and
refreshment. Parking in the city centre is difficult and expensive but there is an
excellent park and ride system in operation with well signposted car parks on all major
routes into the city which is to be highly recommended.
